Perfect bind all three magazines and learn how to include foldouts
How can a publication represent movement?
challenge.
After a week of research, I made two page maps to plan my publications out (not including the foldouts that I would later map out in more detail). Originally I was thinking of doing only two magazines, but I pivoted to three last minute.
Mag 1: Cars as Identity – Car accessories, stereotypes, and van-life
Mag 2: Cars as Space – Cars as a liminal space, idle moments, and the family dynamics inside a car
Mag 3: Cars as Characters – Cars in media, horror movies, and affection for cars

result.
I used unique grids to represent movement in my experimental spreads. I used foldouts to give more clarification to articles that could've been expanded upon. The imagery I chose for the cover was heavily dependent on the material inside and the diagonal line further emphasizes movement and juxtaposition. The back of each magazine is the texture of car lights (not shown).
