The primary goal of Lynk is to assist Kayak tour guides by providing tools for managing group safety and logging conditions on their trips. This app promotes checking for equipment damage, pre-tour checklists, and weather/tide/wind monitoring for the safety of the user. As part of my contextual inquiry research, I talked with two individuals about their kayaking experiences.
process.
I concluded that there needed to be a secondary product paired with the app to monitor the location of the clients of the tour guide. Also, the touchscreen cannot be touched while on the water, so I want interactions to only include the side buttons. I made two task flows: one including the bracelet.
results.
I would hope that this leads to a better kayaking experience overall. This app and bracelet pairing could probably be used for other sports as well.
